Extension of EOI for Showcase 2019
The call out for Showcase expressions of interest has been extended for another week until 5 April.
Through a program of keynote speakers you will gain, and be able to apply, learning about the latest thinking around community engagement and audience development in venues and communities.
Through a GalleriesWest and Art on the Move speaker program you will hear from colleagues, artists and other experienced professionals about current priority issues such as:
- Developments in WA touring exhibitions,
- Why we need facilities plans for our venues
- New models of curatorship for public galleries
- How to work effectively in a local government context
- Working with local Indigenous communities
You will be able to meet and create contacts with GalleriesWest committee members and your colleagues from around the state which will facilitate a stronger community of support and exchange of ideas and experiences.
You will be able to provide GalleriesWest with input into development of its strategic plan and identification of key priorities for the future. This will assist GalleriesWest to provide government with a clearer picture of the work and needs State’s network of public galleries.
After two years of behind the scenes work by the volunteer committee GalleriesWest will have be formally launched in WA. This will take place in a convivial atmosphere after daily speaker and workshop sessions.
