Colour My Life

Colour My Life
inkjet print on backlit transparency film, acrylic, timber, LED strip lights

The power of colour to evoke emotion is at the heart of this work.  A collection of mid winter dawn sky images at Middleton Beach provides the backdrop to my shared ritual stretching over decades. Using a light-box (thanks to Neil Howitt) accentuates the colour.
The early morning swim is a constant in our lives, as we experience and support each other through the gamut of ‘life’s rich tapestry’.

The swimmers blended into the morning sea mist convey a feeling of being in and affected by this place, aptly named Binalup by the Minang people, meaning ‘place of first light’.
