Flora
oil on wood and composite panel

These teacups have been hiding away in my mother’s china cabinet for many years. They were given to Mum by her Godmother, Flora Landells, who painted one place setting for each of Mum’s birthdays as she was growing up. They are much treasured and loved, and it was a seriously big deal for me to be able to take them out and work with them.
Flora Landells was an art teacher, artist, potter and business woman in Perth. This tea set is typical of her work after World War II when she concentrated on painting wildflowers realistically.
