Looking Inside (I see flowers)

Looking Inside (I See Flowers)
perspex, wax, glass, flocked paper

I have been absorbing myself over a number of years with my father’s collection of medicalia. Within his life time and early in his medical practice, he saw the introduction of penicillin, and the almost magical impact this had on the treatment of so many infectious diseases.

My work is therefore informed by medical history, personal collection of medical artefacts and texts, and fascination with the forms of the natural world, both microscopic and macroscopic.

We revel in the mystery and the poetry found within our own bodily form… our microbiome holds the key to the expression of wellness or dis-ease.
Flora inside and out.
